Why do I need car park insurance?
The primary reason for having car park insurance policies is to ensure that you are financially protected against any potential claims. While most drivers realise that they leave vehicles in a car park at their own risk, you may still find yourself subject to a claim for compensation if someone is injured whilst in the car park, or if their property is damaged or stolen.
So the main insurance in a car park insurance policy needs to be car park public liability insurance. This will give you a measure of financial protection should a member of the public make a claim against you.
If you have staff working in the car park, you will also need to ensure that your employer's liability insurance cover is up to date. If the car park is a private one then it may also be wise to include personal liability cover to protect your interests.
