Bristol MacMillan Big Coffee Morning
It’s time to bake it, fake it, or just come along and put some money in the collection box, with the annual MacMillan Cancer Care Big Coffee Morning. This year, Park Insurance is holding a coffee morning as part of the charity’s national fundraising event. The event is being organised in conjunction with the St George Community Centre, Bristol and the doors open at 12:30pm on Thursday 29th September.
“We’re hoping that as many people as possible will come along and support this great event,” says Marc Loud of Park Insurance. “Whether you bring something you’ve baked yourself, fake it by grabbing a cake from a shop, or simply come along for a cup of coffee and pop some money in the collection box, we’d love to see you. The more people who come along, the more money we’ll raise for this fabulous and worthy cause,” he adds.
Part of the community
Park Insurance have been providing insurance for everyone for over 20 years and pride themselves in playing an active and prominent role in the community at every opportunity.
The Bristol MacMillan Big Coffee Morning is a chance for them to raise both money and awareness for the great work MacMillan Cancer Nurses do for those suffering from the disease. “Nearly everyone in the UK has been touched in some way by cancer,” says Marc. “They’re either facing up to their own personal battle with the disease or knowing someone close to them who has had to fight it. MacMillan Cancer doesn’t just help those suffering from cancer, but their families too. They’re reliant on charitable donations to keep providing this essential service, and we believe they deserve as much support as we can give them,” he adds.
On offer will be a selection of delicious home-made cakes, scones, and buns, and a cup of tea or coffee to set you up for the day. The event is open all afternoon and hopes to involve as many members of the community as possible.
